Summer 2017 (The Story So Far…)
Thursday 27th July 2017
Hope everyone’s been having a great summer! We’ve been crazy busy and have been travelling the length and breadth of the country - because even though we’re a live wedding band in Liverpool, we go wherever the music takes us!
So in between events, we thought we’d take five minutes to catch you up and tell you what we’ve up to (so far) in Summer 2017...
We’ve performed at some amazing weddings, parties, private events, public events, corporate events - basically if you have an event on, and you need a top vintage function band, then we’ve got your back. We’ve had a great time playing all types of shows, and here’s just a few of 2017’s so far.
Over the past couple of years, we’ve seen outdoor and festival themed weddings really take off, much to our own delight (I mean for goodness sake they have marshmallow toasting and tractor rides - WHAT’S NOT TO LOVE?!) and 2017 has thrown up some of the best to date, including this stunning birthday bash at The Lakehouse in Warwick, complete with it’s own marquee, scorching hot temperatures and, oh yeah, A PIRATE FANCY DRESS THEME!! Luckily we brought our A-game so there was no mutinies (phew).
We’ve also had the pleasure of being a part of Rachel & Matt’s big day inside Thornsett Fields barn, Stockport. A gorgeous couple and a gorgeous venue, topped off with some lovely words about us (we didn’t pay them for this, we swear!) from the bride and groom and featured on the fantastic Brides Up North blog.
Also just a quick reminder that this is the U.K. and the weather isn’t always like it is on Tattooine (Star Wars themed parties hit us up), so we do occasionally have to play under a roof like the one found at the beautiful Portmerion Hotel for Michael & Krysta’s wedding - if you’ve never been to Portmerion, we couldn’t recommend it enough, we recommend it more than we recommend ourselves, and we REALLY recommend ourselves. We had a great time there and even managed to get one of the guests up to play with us when we noticed he was hiding a harmonica in his coat pocket. (Note to future party guests, if you are found to be harbouring musical instruments or talents on your person we will be forced to make you use them, how do you think we got started?)
That’s just about it from us, we hope you’ve enjoyed our little highlight reel of Summer 2017 so far, we’re having a great time on the road, and can’t wait for the next show. As always, here’s your friendly neighbourhood reminder that if you need to get in touch with us concerning anything whether it’s bookings, enquiries, advice on how to avoid Game of Thrones spoilers (PLEASEEE), then get in contact today and be sure to give us a cheeky follow on twitter, for you tech savvy folk!
All best for your summers from us, hopefully see you soon!
The Daddy O’s.
